Alumni

The School is always delighted to hear from and reconnect with alumni to find out what you're doing now and about your memories of studying at St Andrews.

The School values your continued contact. Please keep them informed of your postal and email address so that they can send you regular information about their activities, events and publications. The School would also be delighted to hear from you whenever you change your job or reach a milestone in your life. Please contact the School by emailing gsd@st-andrews.ac.uk.

Current students appreciate meeting and developing networks with our alumni, and are especially interested in hearing about the diverse career paths former graduates have taken from the School's two degree programmes: Geography and Sustainable Development.

In 2011, the department of Geography and Sustainable Development was delighted to play its part in welcoming "home" William Wales (Geography, 2005) to launch the University's 600th Anniversary celebrations in his role as patron of the 600th Anniversary Appeal. William was accompanied by his then-fiancé Miss Catherine Middleton (History of Art, 2005). The School shares the Principal and Vice-Chancellor's view that they "are the first among many who will reconnect with St Andrews and join in the celebrations".

School magazines and journals

Terra Nostra

The Terra Nostra School magazine is periodically published to highlight news about staff, students, alumni and former staff:

The Irvine Atlas

The Irvine Atlas is a publication reviving STAG, the long-dormant St Andrews Undergraduate Geography Journal. The journal's mission is to:

  • create a platform to showcase and archive the excellent work of St Andrews GSD students
  • inspire the School's peers to work creatively and join them in this exercise
  • integrate all levels of university learning
  • ensure accessibility and legitimise different displays of knowledge.
