• Bible and the Contemporary World

  This interdisciplinary course between biblical and theological studies can be taken part-time as:

  • individual modules (15 weeks part-time per module)
  • a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum 18 months and maximum four years part-time)
  • an MLitt (minimum two years and maximum five years part-time).

  A short study conference at the start of each module will be held at the University, and the rest of the course will be taught using internet-based virtual learning, which will include guided reading, lectures and online discussions.

• International education

  The University of St Andrews offers MSc International Education both in St Andrews and online, and all courses begin in either September or January. Online courses are generally studied part-time, over a couple of years.

  Students study a combination of compulsory and optional modules so they can focus on areas of particular interest to them and their future careers.

• Iranian Studies

  This online masters in Iranian Studies provides learners with the opportunity to manage their studies and professional commitments whilst at the same time benefiting from the research, knowledge and teaching available through the Institute of Iranian Studies at St Andrews.

  The programme is intended to facilitate the development of projects in academic research and also to instruct on contemporary policy issues – ideal for those who do not wish to pursue an academic path but do require expertise and knowledge to better pursue their chosen career, be it in journalism, government or the corporate sector.

• Sustainable Aquaculture

  This course is offered by the University of St Andrews in collaboration with The Fish Site. Sustainable Aquaculture can be taken part-time as:

  • a module course (8 to 12 weeks)
  • a Postgraduate Certificate (minimum one year, maximum two years)
  • a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum 18 months, maximum four years)
  • an MSc (minimum two years, maximum five years).

  These modular programmes are taught part-time via an online platform that offers online tutorial support, direct email contact with tutors, video streams, and access to student bulletin boards. This structure allows students the maximum flexibility to complete their studies while continuing in their employment.

• Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

  Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is available as a part time online course. Students on the online Masters track can complete their studies in a minimum of two years and a maximum of five years. 

  The course is delivered through recorded lectures, recorded mini-lectures, online chatrooms, podcasts, guided writing, a number of webinars, and intensive feedback sessions on your work.

• Terrorism and Political Violence

  Terrorism and Political Violence is available a part-time online course. As a student, you can study for the Postgraduate Diploma (two to four years part-time) or an MLitt (three to five years part-time).

  The course is delivered through a combination of e-books, online unit and course notes, online tutorials, links to recommended readings and chat and video forums.

• The Psychology of Dementia Care

  This postgraduate online course can be studied as a part-time qualification by professional care staff and management who provide services to people with dementia.
