Laidlaw Music Centre room bookings

Laidlaw Music Centre rooms can be booked by Music Centre members during opening hours.

Members can book up to one hour a day. Rooms are bookable up to seven days in advance.

How to book

University staff and student members can book through the online room booking system. When booking a room, please use your University username as the booking title.

If you are a Music Centre Member but are neither staff or student, then please email musicrooms@st-andrews.ac.uk to request a booking.  We aim to respond to booking requests by the next working day.

If you have a University ID card, please tap it on arrival and exit. All non-University visitors must report to reception on arrival.

Music technology

All the small practice rooms, plus the Amplified Music Room, Recording Room and Live Room, have Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB soundcards and microphones. Please see the demo video of how you can use soundcards for making recordings or video calls, such as by using your own laptop.

Dante networked audio is available throughout the building as described in the how to use Dante video. This technology can be used for many things, such as studio recordings of music, band practices across several rooms, live streaming and podcasts.

For any questions, including for an induction session on using music technology in the building, please email jk50@st-andrews.ac.uk.
