Talloires Network of Engaged Universities

The Talloires Network of Engaged Universities is a growing global coalition of over 400 university presidents, vice-chancellors and rectors in 86 countries who have publicly committed to strengthening the civic roles and social responsibilities of their institutions. It is the largest international network focused particularly on university civic engagement.

The network works together to implement the principles of the Talloires Declaration, collaborating with communities and partners to confront societal challenges such as disease, famine, structural racism, gender oppression, economic inequality, and climate change.

One of their flagship awards is the MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship, which we engage with over the years as it recognises exceptional student-community engagement and community service.

The Talloires Network also organises a number of Action Research programmes. It has recently coordinated virtual workshops as part of its 'Amplifying the Voices of Engaged Researchers' Initiative. These provide a forum for researchers to discuss their community projects, which often involve vulnerable communities around the world.
