The Summer Academic Experience Courses (SAEC) offer pupils from around the world the unique opportunity to experience courses taught in the Scottish academic tradition by current academic staff. Students will get to study an academic subject of their choice, whilst also developing their academic research and writing skills. Students on these courses must have a good level of English.
Students will receive a student ID card and will have free access to our world-class facilities, including the library and newly redeveloped sports centre.

- The Worldwide Scholarship
Two part-funded tuition fee scholarships for the duration of the SAEC programme. Awarded to deserving students who are academically excellent and who can show financial need for the award. These scholarships are for students applying to the Scottish Studies or Sustainable Development Courses, only

At what stage of my course application can I apply for this scholarship?
Please apply for the scholarship after you have submitted your application for a place on the SAEC course. You do not need to wait until you have received an offer of a place before applying for the scholarship.

How to apply
This scholarship is available for application via the Summer Academic Experience Course (SAEC) Scholarships through the scholarships and funding catalogue in the Scholarships and Funding section of My application.
After you have applied to a new course beginning in the summer 2024, you will be provided with login details for the My application portal. You must allow at least two working days for processing and issue of your log in details before you can apply for this scholarship.

When will I know the outcome?
The outcome of your scholarship application will be available on "View my applications" in the Scholarships and Funding section of My Application by February 2024.
