Database provision

A variety of databases can be offered to researchers : MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, Solr.

Description

The following databases can be offered from IT Services:

• MySQL 8
• Oracle 12C
• Postgres 11
• Solr indexing

 

The databases all have the standard "out the box" RDMS capabilities.  

The Oracle databases have backup and failover, but MySql/Postgres only has backup.

Are there limits to the service?

There is no size restrictions to the databases, but the sizes will be monitored.

In order to use Solr, the application code needs to be executed on the same server as the Solr indexer.
