Akira O'Connor, Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience gave a talk on his Ig Nobel Prize-winning research on jamais vu.

Jamais vu is the curious opposite of deja vu—a feeling of strangeness or unfamiliarity that arises for things that you know should be familiar. Akira presented a story that spans decades—from the hidden origins of jamais vu as a phenomenon of psychological interest, to his own involvement in its study spanning his time as a PhD student, lecturer, and honours project supervisor.
