Dr Catherine Eagleton

Katie joined the University as Director of Museums in 2019 and was appointed Director of Libraries and Museums in August 2020. Her career has combined library, archival and museum collections. After completing her PhD at Cambridge, she became a curator in the British Museum, then the British Library’s Head of Asian and African Collections and in 2017 Associate Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. She is a member of the AHRC steering group Towards a National Collection aiming to open digital access to cultural heritage collections.

Emma Wisher

Emma joined the University as Assistant Director, Academic Engagement and Student Experience in 2022. She has over 20 years' experience of working in academic libraries, in the areas of academic liaison, digital and information skills training, user engagement and the provision of service excellence. She is a strong advocate for the role the library can play in supporting the mission of the University.

Helen joined the University in 2009 and was appointed Assistant Director, Library Collections and Digital Services in October 2023. She is responsible for the effective management of and access to the physical and digital Library collections, systems, and digital services, and has over 15 years’ experience of working in these areas in academic libraries.

Dr Jessica Burdge

Jess became the Assistant Director, University Collections and Museums, in 2023, having joined the University in 2007 as Collections Curator (Museums) before becoming Head of Museum and Photographic Collections. From 2010, she was Collections Care Project Manager for the National Museums Scotland’s, returning to St Andrews in 2012, Jess has studied part-time towards a PhD alongside work, and graduated in summer 2023. Now with responsibility for University Collections and Museums, Jess leads the teams that steward and share the nationally and internationally important collections across Archives, Rare Books, Museum and Photographic Collections, engaging audiences at the Wardlaw Museum and Bell Pettigrew Museum. She is also currently (2022 - ) the Convenor of the University Museums in Scotland group (UMIS).
