Postgraduate funding

The following organisations may be able to offer funding for MLitt or PhD students. The list is not exhaustive, and overseas students should always consider their own government's funding body.

If you are an overseas applicant, you should check your own government’s Education Department to see whether they offer or promote any funding schemes for postgraduate study in the UK. Examples of such schemes include loans for US postgraduate students and SSHRC awards in Canada.

School of Classics MLitt Widening Access Scholarship

The School of Classics at the University of St Andrews is pleased to offer a new Widening Access Scholarship for the Classics MLitt programme. The scholarship is designed to support students from groups traditionally excluded from or under-represented in academia.

Funding is available for one student, for a September 2024 start, to cover both fees and maintenance. Both home and overseas students are eligible to apply.

The award will be made on the basis of both access/financial needs and academic merit.

The deadline for application is 28 March 2024.
