Lower College Hall

The impressive Lower College Hall offers grand interiors which can be used for a wide range of events, including wedding receptions and civil ceremonies.

On summer days delegates can relax on the manicured lawns, and for large events Lower College Lawn can provide an attractive site for a marquee.

Lower College Hall can be set up in many different ways and can seat 150 people cabaret-style or 190 theatre-style.

Wedding package

Venue information

You can add decorative material to venues and access is available in the morning of your wedding. Access may be possible the day before depending on availability. The Events team will set up any table decorations for you.

Table linen is provided by the Events team. Chair covers are charged at an additional £2.25 per chair. The linen provided is ivory with gold chair sashes and ivory napkins. An additional fee will apply if you need a different colour of linen.

In addition to table linen, a table plan and a round or square solid silver cake stand and silver cake knife are also provided.

Any decorations and gifts from the event can be stored in a locked room overnight. You can arrange a time with the team to collect them.

Please inform the Events team about what decorative material you are planning to bring, as some University buildings have ancient features to which decorations cannot be attached. Candles are not permitted in any University venue.

There are many excellent photographic locations around the University. The Lower and Upper College Halls are situated in the town centre of St Andrews with many stunning photographic locations within walking distance. This includes the cathedral, the beach and St Salvator’s Quadrangle.

Photographers are welcome to visit the venue before the event. Please arrange a date with the Events team by emailing aceevents@st-andrews.ac.uk or phoning +44 (0)1334 46 3000.
Accommodation is available from June to August. To make a booking:
- you can speak to the social event manager to pay on behalf of your group
- your guests can pay individually when they book online.
