Associate Dean, Education (Arts and Divinity)

The Associate Dean acts with full authority on behalf of the Assistant Vice Principal Dean of Learning and Teaching.

Responsibilities

• Convener of the Entrepreneurial Education Working Group.
• Convener of the Sustainability in the Curriculum Committee and advisor to the Environmental Sustainability Board.
• Contributing to student progression reviews and the resolution of appeals.
• Approval of module results and Study Abroad grade conversions.
• Representing the Assistant Vice-Principal (Dean of Learning and Teaching) on academic appointment panels.
• Academic leadership of the Laidlaw programme in collaboration with the Associate Dean (Science).
• Responding to issues raised by External Examiners.
• Fostering expertise in Learning and Teaching among academic colleagues.
• In consultation with the Proctor's Office, leading academic open fora and dissemination events.
• Academic monitoring and approvals.
• Policy development and review.

Gosia is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Economics and Finance. She is an international macroeconomist, and her research focuses on international policy cooperation.

Gosia completed her PhD in Economics at the University of York, MSc in Economics at the University of Edinburgh, an MA in Management at Cracow University of Economics in Poland, and a year abroad at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Gosia gained industry experience through various internships and employment prior to studying Economics. During her PhD she was an intern at the European Central Bank where she was part of a team coordinating technical cooperation with central banks outside the EU in the International Relations and Cooperation Division. In 2022 Gosia won the National Enterprise Educator Award ‘Pioneer in Enterprise Education’ for actively influencing and driving transformational change and creating impact related to enterprise and entrepreneurship education or practice within her organisation and across the sector.

Gosia previously served as the Deputy Director of Teaching and Students Wellbeing Officer in the School of Economics and Finance.
